A new congregation will meet in the Coulnegrein meeting hall on Perceval Road, Stornoway this Sunday.
Rev Andrew Quigley, Moderator of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland, confirmed that as a result of a request from Christians in the area, public worship services would commence this week.
It is thought that many who will join the congregation have left the Free Church of Scotland due to the decisions made about the use of hymns and instruments in worship.
Rev Quigley said: “These will take place on Lord’s days, morning at 11am and evening at 6.30pm at the Coulnagrein meeting hall. The Rev. David Karoon will be preaching this Lord’s day. We want to make it clear that this decision is motivated solely by a positive desire to proclaim the Gospel. Our goal, by God’s grace and for His glory is to see sinners converted to Christ and become committed followers of the Lord.”
