New school for North Uist approved

A new school for North Uist to be built on the site of current Paible School was approved by members of the Education and Children’s Services Committee on Tuesday.

Educational provision at Carinish School, Lochmaddy School and Paible School will be discontinued from June 26th 2015.

The new school is due to open on August 13th 2015 and will include statutory pre-school education.

The decision of the Education Committee will be considered by the full council next Thursday.
