No more cash for ideas

Cash payments for council workers who come up with ideas to improve performance or make savings are likely to be stopped.

The Employee Suggestion Scheme has been running at the Comhairle since 2009 with rewards of between £25 and £250 being given to employees who came up with good ideas for improvements either to service delivery or customer experience; ways of improving efficiencies or reducing environmental impact.

These ideas would be from outside the employee’s normal duties and would not be made at a meeting held for the purpose of proposing suggestions.
