Office of Fair Trading (OFT) officials are in Stornoway today as part of their six week information gathering process looking into diesel and petrol prices.
Kyla Brand and James Macbeth from the OFT will attend a meeting with the Comhairle’s Fuels Group which is chaired by Cllr Kenny Murray.
A spokesperson for the OFT said they will be in Stornoway for one day.
He explained the OFT are in “listening mode” at the moment and will conduct meetings “with interested partners and directly with industry players”.
No public meeting will take place while they are on the island but it is understood they will be meeting with the Gordon Maclennan from the Back filling station, Fair Fuel Solutions and MP Angus MacNeil.
