LEADING trade body Energy North is calling businesses from the Outer Hebrides with interests in the energy industry to join them at the next members’ meeting next week.
Taking place from 11.45am to 1.45pm on Thursday, September 27th, at the Highlands and Islands (HIE) offices in Stornoway, there will also be video link up from HIE offices in Lionacleit to enable participants to join the meeting from Benbecula and the Uists.
This regular members’ meeting has bee organised to give local businesses a chance to review the renewable energy action plan drafted following the ‘Realising the Potential’ event held on the Isle of Lewis in June and to discuss action which may be required in the near future.
An activity update from Energy North and its partners Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will also be shared at the meeting.
Ian Couper, chief executive of Energy North, said: “We will be holding a series of meetings throughout the patch to discuss up and coming opportunities and concerns, particularly relating to skills.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our members to get together to discuss new and developments and any issues which may be creating barriers to future growth in the energy market in the Outer Hebrides.” He added: “The meeting is also an ideal platform for voicing requests for future action from Energy North in the political arena and at industry level through marketing, networking events and promotion.
