The largest residential yacht on the planet dwarfed our own MV Loch Seaforth when they passed side by side this week.

The luxury ship The World anchored off Stornoway at the weekend to take shelter from a forecast of bad weather in Iceland.

On board The World, which is a privately-owned residential yacht where all residents are worth at least £3million each, was TV’s most famous lawmaker – Judge Judy.

Judy, real name Judith Sheindlin, is one of the world’s highest-earning TV stars - banking almost $50m last year alone.

She came ashore with many of the other residents for a surprise visit to Stornoway where Judy enjoyed lunch in the town’s Digby Chick restaurant.

All 165 suites on The World are privately owned with residents continuously sailing the globe —staying in most ports several days.

A few residents live on board full time while most visit periodically throughout the year

This year the ship is sailing approximately 41,000 nautical miles, visiting 104 ports of call.
