Those who wish to attend are being advised by organisers that there is limited space within the Memorial Garden for attendees. Standing room on the opposite pavement to the memorialwill allow for social distancing where the wreath laying can be viewed.

All those attending should arrive sharp at the War Memorial, and at the latest by 10.50am.

Last year’s Poppies will remain in position having been ‘preserved’ by several applications of varnish earlier in the year.

Organisers took action when it became apparent that the traditional parade would not be possible in the circumstances prevailing due to the coronavirus pandemic and strict Scottish Government guidelines on groups meeting up outdoors.

Those participating are reminded to wear a face covering and ensure that they maintain good respiratory hygiene - cough or sneeze into a tissue and dispose of safely later in a bin, or cough/sneeze into your elbow.
