Since April 2016, WIDT has committed over £352,000 in grant payments and loan funding to promote these objectives.

Recent beneficiaries include Coll Community Development Trust, Lewis; Uist and Barra Food Bank; Garadh a Bagh a Tuath, Barra and Leverburgh Hall Committee, Harris.

Following the successful uptake of the Small Grants Scheme in 2019, where £40,000 was distributed to community bodies across the Western Isles, WIDT has now launched the Small Projects Fund for 2020 to distribute a further £40,000.

Applications are invited from community groups for a maximum of £2,000 in grant funding.

In order to be eligible the application must meet at least one of the WIDT’s objectives (as set out in its Articles of Association and published on the website) and show benefit to the community.

Once the fund has been expended it will close until the September 2021.

Full details of the fund and the application form can be found at the website.
