Police arrest man on drug charges

A 24 year-old man has been reported as part of ongoing police activity to halt supply of illegal drugs to Western Isles.

Police Scotland reported a 24 year-old man to the Procurator Fiscal after he was found to be in possession of an offensive weapon and a suspected quantity of drugs.

The man was stopped and searched at the Stornoway Ferry Terminal at approximately 21:15 hours on Tuesday 02 September 2014, as part of ongoing police activities to combat the supply of drugs to the Islands. He was detained and taken to Stornoway Police Station and subsequently arrested.
