Small refuse collection vehicle secured for Bernera bin collections

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has taken delivery of a small refuse collection vehicle which is permitted to cross the Bernera Bridge under the current 7.5T weight restriction.

Residents are being asked to present their bins for collection by 8am on Tuesday, September 8, and bins will be serviced throughout the day.

As both non-recyclable and food and garden waste bins cannot be emptied at the same time with this vehicle configuration, the vehicle will visit properties twice to collect each waste stream separately.
