Postal voting

The postal ballot packs for those who applied for a postal vote by 15 August 2014 for the Scottish Independence Referendum in the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar Area will be arriving on doormats over the next few days.

Counting Officer, Malcolm Burr said: “Postal voting is growing in popularity as a convenient way for voters to have their say. I would urge Postal Voters to take the time to read the guidance enclosed and ensure that they have completed the postal voting statement by signing the statement and filling in their date of birth.

“This statement is kept separately from your ballot paper so your vote is always secret. Postal votes must be returned before polls close at 10pm on Thursday 18 September.”
