Public invited to WISE meeting in Stornoway

Western Isles Support for the Environment (WISE) are holding a new season volunteer meeting on Saturday, March 21, inviting everyone along to see what WISE have planned for this year.

WISE is a volunteering project that has been created to recruit and train volunteers to carry out improvement work on local footpaths throughout the Western Isles, so that people of all ages and abilities can access them in order to promote physical activity to recruit and train volunteers to carry out and better health.

We are looking for volunteers who love their local community and environment to complete some simple path surveys and carry out basic path maintenance.

It’s a really fun way of getting out and really making a difference. The paths don’t have to be long and the work doesn’t have to be major.

The new season volunteer meeting is 11am on Saturday 21, at Volunteer Centre, 95 Cromwell Street, Stornoway.
