Stornoway Port Authority is pleased to confirm that a Red Arrows Display will take place on Monday 29th June as part of the celebrations to mark its 150th Anniversary.

Royal Air Force annually receives 200-300 applications for their displays, so the successful locations are very carefully selected. Stornoway has been chosen as a preferred destination for the Red Arrows this year among over 60 RAF shows scheduled this year and will follow the RAF shows in France, Weston-Super-Mare, Glamorgan and Cumbria.

The display, which will be very widely covered by media representatives from all over the UK, is considered as a very effective way of promoting and marketing Stornoway Port, the town and the Western Isles. Local press will be also invited for a briefing with RAF on the day.

The display, which was officially confirmed on Monday 16th March 2015 with the RAF Squadron Leader and Event Director will involve 9 Royal Air Force jets and will commence at 5pm, at Stornoway Airport on Monday 29th June.

The display will be open to all members of public. Stornoway Port Authority will also encourage visiting Cruise Liners in port at the time of the display to participate and enjoy this very rare event (the last RAF display in Stornoway took place 14 years ago).
Stornoway Port Authority will publish further information regarding the show on their website in due course:
