Report helps tenants judge performance

The reports allow tenants who live in nearly 610,000 homes provided by social landlords across Scotland to monitor and compare their landlord’s performance.

The tenants of over 2,200 households in the Western Isles now have access to the 2016 Landlord Reports at www.scottishhousingregulator.gov.uk.

The reports show tenants how their landlord has performed against the Scottish Social Housing Charter in the areas that tenants told the Regulator matter most: homes and rents, quality and maintenance of homes, neighbourhoods, tenant satisfaction and value for money.

The landlord reports are designed to help tenants hold their landlords to account. The Regulator has published separate landlord reports for each of the nation’s social landlords, comprising around 160 registered social landlords and 26 local authorities with housing stock.

The Regulator’s unique and award-winning interactive online comparison tool helps empower thousands of tenants across the country.

This year, tenants can compare how their landlord has done over the first three years of the Charter.

Tenants can review performance against a national average and other landlords.

Alongside its individual landlord reports, the Regulator has also published a Charter headlines report on the performance picture nationally. This shows that most social landlords across Scotland are performing well against the Scottish Social Housing Charter.
