Rise in complaints about Comhairle services but levels remain low
Complaints about Comhairle services rose in 2017 /18 compared to the previous year, but remained at a low level, according to the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO).
In the period, the SSPO received six complaints about Comhairle services compared to three the previous year and 10 in 2015. None of the complaints made this year required full investigation by the Ombudsman.
The main area of complaint concerned Social Work services, with Education, Environmental Health and Cleansing, and Roads and Transport services also being referred.
Complaints to the SSPO about Comhairle services, confirmed in its annual reports, are currently less than a quarter of the average figure for Scottish local authorities.
