FRIDAY, January 27 marks ‘SOS Day’ – the RNLI’s biggest annual fundraising event.

Raising funds locally, members of Stornoway RNLI Ladies Lifeboat Guild will be holding a SOS Raffle in the Co-operative store on Macaulay Road from Thursday, January 26 to Saturday, January 28.

Along with a great selection of prizes is an amazing model fishing boat – the ‘Attempt’ - made especially for Stornoway RNLI by Calum MacKay.

And why not get involved? Get your class or school involved in the RNLI SOS Day by going for Spots Or Stripes – wear both for the day, or how about Scruffy Or Smart – be the belle of the ball or wear your oldest outfit to school. And what about Slippers On School-day?

You could also have fun thinking up your own SOS ideas, and to help you along, order an RNLI fundraising kit which supports you with everything you need to make your day a success, including a poster, facts and figures, assembly ideas, stickers and a collection box.

Raise awareness amongst your work colleagues of the RNLI vital service by holding an SOS event at work. To kick-start your imagination, here’s some fundraising ideas – also a great way to boost team morale!

With time still to plan your event, whatever you decide on for SOS Day 2012, make sure to order your free fundraising pack from www.rnli.org.uk/sosday2012
