Round two of consultations reaches Stornoway

Stornoway Town Hall was the venue of the second budget consultation meeting in Stornoway on Thursday night (16th) with Education cut backs again dominating the debate.

The discontinuation of itinerant teachers, the change to the school timetable (asymmetric week) and E-Learning were all raised with members of the public passionate that the cuts should not have a negative impact on education.

For a full report of the consultation meeting see next week’s Stornoway Gazette, out on January 24th.

The next consultation meetings will be in Balallan Community Centre 22nd January at 7.30pm; 29th January 7.30pm at Barvas Hall; 3st January 5.30pm Uig Community Centre and 31st January Bernera Community Centre at 8pm.
