GET set for a rip-roaring Ceilidh in aid of charities Erskine and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) this weekend – with brand new rip-roaring Ceilidh band Scaliwag.
Performing a mix of traditional, folk and original music with an infectious energy that gets everyone toe-tapping and dancing, Scaliwag will be strutting their stuff at the fundraising Ceilidh in the Royal British Legion on Saturday, September 22nd, from 8.30pm.
The band comprises of four Lewis talents with Scottish singer/songwriter and musician Davie Tait on guitar.
Davie has travelled the length and breadth of Scotland, performing traditional folk music, as well as modern and original songs at pubs, bars and music festivals across the country.
Joining David is a fantastic musician with a wealth of traditional tunes under his belt, fidder John Porteous. And swelling the strings is Jane Hepburn, also on Fiddle – a lass who is no stranger to playing in a small pub or on the big stage to thousands.
Rounding up the quartet is Bodhran player Iain Mackillop who has performed with bands all over Scotland and now brings a toe-tapping, foot stomping beat to the Scaliwag music.
