The Scottish Salmon Company named Exporter of the Year

The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) has been named Exporter of the Year at the Business Insider Made in Scotland Awards.

The company, which operates 60 sites across the West coast and Outer Hebrides and produces approximately 20% of Scotland’s total salmon output, was recognised for its international success which has seen exports double in five years. The leading salmon producer now exports premium quality Scottish salmon to 24 countries across the world, with exports representing almost 50% of revenue.

“Our commitment to provenance and innovative products including our recently launched fresh Label Rouge fillets, have helped us to enter into key emerging markets and expand our presence throughout the world. Exports now account for almost 50% of revenue and our growing customer base now spans 24 countries.”

The inaugural awards have been created in partnership with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and took place at the RBS Conference Centre in Gogarburn, Edinburgh on Thursday 21st April.
