Sky-high fundraiser

Volunteer Hector Macleod is about to take a giant leap of faith for local organisation Befriending Lewis, as he takes to the skies on July 26th to do a skydive, to raise funds for the group.

This 15,000 ft skydive challenge is no mean feat as Hector has had to shed 2 stone to meet skydiving weight requirements.

This has seen the need for Hector to triple his intake of daily water, swap his favourite “Topic” chocolate bar for a bunch of grapes and convert his leisurely evening walks into rigorous cardio sessions at the gym.

It’s been a testing few months for Hector but he is almost there!

Hector he Befriending Lewis Team head off on the long drive to the UK’s highest Skydive centre in Hibaldstow, Lincolnshire, in a bid to raise much needed funds for a service which is making a sky-high impact on the community in Lewis.
