THE Isle of Skye edition of Na Mo Chuid Aodaich commenced last week in Port nan Long with the first of three evenings of the highly successful show taking place in two of the island’s communities.

The Minignish Community Hall was filled to capacity as the evening kicked off with a drama which depicted the true story of immigrants from Lewis who made a new life in Port nan Long.

But the main stars of the following fashion show – the clothes – captured the imagination of the audience. Displaying such a vivid and varied collection of vintage clothing, the show was a scintillating exhibition of the vibrancy of expression hidden in this humble community.

And the event also raised over £1,700 for Crossroads Care, a charity which gives respite care to carers in the Highlands and Islands.

The show in Kilmiur takes place on Friday, February 24th, at 7.30pm, and a matinee will show at 2.30pm. Those wishing to book a seat should phone Aros on 01478 613750.
