The Laxdale Community Association have announced that a Soup and Pudding lunch, followed by an evening céilidh with burgers under canopy, will be held on Saturday 21st November.
The event is to raise funds to help defray the expenses of protracted illness incurred by a family in the district that has recently been bereaved.
It is planned that the lunch will commence at 12.30pm, with the evening céilidh starting at around 6.30pm.
There will be music and entertainment throughout the day and evening, with teas, coffees and home baking also being served throughout.
Raffles will be drawn at intervals, with prizes kindly donated by local companies which are thanked for their generosity.
In addition, the Historical Exhibition, that touched a chord with so many when it was open in recent years, will be open throughout the day and evening with a refurbished display.
The Laxdale Hall will be open from 10am on the Saturday morning to receive donations of baking.
There will be buckets for financial donations at various points throughout the premises.
The Community Association extend a very warm welcome to all to come along and meet old friends in a convivial atmosphere, for a most worthy cause.
