An island family missed their grocery shopping delivery as they had a very special delivery of their own on the way - and were delighted to receive a parcel from the supermarket to celebrate.
Little Kirsty Murray was born on the morning of May 30th and understandably her parents Donna and Ally forgot about their scheduled Tesco delivery!
The delivery driver called with the order and found no one at home but he returned at the end of the shift and tried again, catching dad Ally as he made a quick visit home.
Delighted mum Donna posted on the store’s Facebook page: “We were caught up in the excitement of our little girl being born on Saturday morning and forgot to make sure someone was in for our Tesco order arriving. The delivery driver very kindly came back at the end of his run and my husband managed to catch him.
“They phoned yesterday to ask if there had been any problems and we explained that I had a baby on Saturday morning and thanked them for trying again later. Today they delivered us this lovely set of baby goodies and a card to welcome Kirsty to the world. We were so touched...talk about good customer care!”
Tesco’s Stornoway Customer Experience Manager, Bella Macleod said: “Our Team was so excited to hear about the arrival of baby Kirsty Murray. Tesco Stornoway would like to wish her parents and extended family all the best.”
