To mark Victims Day today (February 22), VSS is asking people to talk about the work of VSS and how it helps people.

People can spread the word by: joining in an online thunderclap, like the VSS Facebook page, tweet about the work at #vsscotland, or chat to friends and colleagues about VSS.

Today marks the start of campaign week, and VSS will be hosting events in towns and villages, train stations and supermarkets to publicise what it does.

To find an event, visit www.victimsupportsco.org.uk/VictimsWeek2016 where you can also see you tube videos of victims’ experiences, and a guide to supporting the social media campaign.

A spokesperson said: “VSS is a charity most people only know about if you need to use us. “Each year we provide support to thousands of adults and young people, but we are relatively unknown.

“Please support our campaign by spreading the word.

“You don’t know when you or a member of your family may need us.”
