The notorious summmer weather has threw a spanner into the works for the St Kilda Swim Challenge which was due to start from Harris in the early hours of this morning.
The weather window the nine-strong team had hoped to exploit has now closed to a mere 24 hours, so not enough time for them to complete the 60 mile swim to the Dual World Heritage Site.
Team Captain, Colin S Macleod, posted on Facebook: “I’m afraid to say that we’ve had to postpone the swim again as the weather windown has closed in to only 24 hours of calm seas. This is not good enough for us to complete the swim.
“There is the possibility of good weather on Tuesday next week to Friday, which we’re monitoring with the intention of starting on Thursday morning.
“Thanks for all the well wishes, I know the team really appreciate it, as do I.”
