Stornoway Gazette weather correspondent Eddie Graham is warning of a string of storms heading for the Western Isles over the coming days.

From Saturday, a spell of stormy weather is likely to begin across North West Scotland and the islands.

On his blog, Eddie says: “Expect severe gales during daytime Saturday (gusts possibly 70-80mph), and again another (separate) storm possible (with 80mph gusts) on Sunday evening. Further severe storms are likely into next week, with air pressure possibly dropping as low as 935hPa in the deepest storm (near Iceland) early next week.”

There could be disruption to ferries like MV Isle of Lewis which was stormbound in last week’s storm.
