Stornoway accountants nominated for another award

Nicolson Accountancy of Stornoway, have been announced as finalists for the “Best Independent Firm - Scotland” in the British Accountancy Awards.

This follows on from their success in winning the 2012 Scottish Accountancy Award, and being runners-up in the British Accountancy Awards in 2011.

Run by husband and wife couple, Angus and Sue Nicolson, the firm has grown rapidly to become the largest accountancy practice in the Western Isles, and has recently opened an office in central Glasgow to complement the services provided from the head office in Stornoway; and the company provides accounting and tax services to over 1,200 clients throughout the UK.

The firm has used the internet to market itself successfully to clients throughout the world, using different brands to attract different streams of business, and is now the leading provider of Norwegian tax services to small and mid-sized businesses in the UK.

Sue Nicolson commented, “We are delighted to have made the shortlist again, and we are looking forward to the announcement in mid-November.”

Emphasising the opportunities available to local businesses, Angus Nicolson added, “Our physical location doesn’t matter to most of our clients, and we have demonstrated that we can bring work to the islands, building on the skills available locally.”
