Two Stornoway Dental students are planning to use their skills to help treat children in India this summer.
The students, Keri Guthrie and Jyoti Sumel, who are training at the Stornoway Dental hospital, are planning to travel to India on July 12th to provide a service to disadvantaged children through a schools programme.
Keri said: “We are going to bring over toothbrushes and also provide instructions on helping to maintain their oral health.
“We believe that no children regardless of where their from should have to suffer pain.”
The students have set up a GoFund fundraising page and are hoping the community will support their efforts.
Keri added: “We are lucky in the UK we have access to these services. We have a major challenge ahead of us to raise quite a bit of money in 7 weeks on top of our full time studies. Any contribution at all, even the smallest amount, would be very very much appreciated.”
They are planning fundraising nights but you can also support them by visiting http://www.gofundme.com/sztt6
