Summer Show in Uist

On Saturday, September 5, the Uist Community Riding School was a hive of activity for the Summer Show.

The day progressed calmly as the judges Catriona Rowan, Danielle MacGilivary and Emma MacRury had the difficult task of sorting out placings and judging both horse and rider in a number of different ridden and in-hand categories.

Some were judged on rider skill and competence and some on horse performance and ability with others marked on their compatibility with their horse.

Throughout the day there were a total of 115 entries spread over the 27 classes and 30 horses and ponies entered, we were also delighted to see privately owned horses coming along and supporting us for the day.

All riders took away rosettes and prize winners all had Trophies.

For more pictures and a full report of the event see this week’s Stornoway Gazette out on Thursday, September 17th.
