A mystery superyacht moored at Stornoway Harbour this morning (Thursday) sparked the rumour mill locally with claims that music superstar Beyonce was on board.
The glamorous vessel’s name could not be easily spotted, so perhaps this was reason enough for islanders to think it was a floating holiday home for someone famous.
Information from Stornoway Port Authority’s Facebook page said: “A sixty metre superyacht ‘Jamaica Bay’ berthed along pier no 1 today. It was built in 1989 and bought by a trio of owners in 1992, the yacht can accommodate 12 guests and 15 crew.”
Another contributor to the Port’s Facebook page added: “For the avoidance of doubt, despite the rumours, the crew have confirmed that Beyoncé is not aboard or in any way associated with the boat.”
Perhaps the fact that the Belfast Telegraph reported on July 7th that Queen B was on board when the vessel was docked at Belfast Harbour ahead of her gig at Croke Park could have influenced the rumour mill.
