Sweet treat for Island flyers

Customers were presented with the popular Scottish sweets as they travelled across the 27 destinations on the airline’s network which spans the length of the British Isles – from Sumburgh to Stansted.

The confectionary give-away comes days after the carrier unveiled a new tartan livery which will decorate each of its 28 aircraft after the franchise agreement it shares with Flybe comes to an end in September 2017.

The revamped design scheme is based on the company’s red, black and white brand colours together with a new Loganair tartan to form the basis of its staff uniforms.

Loganair, which carries 700,000 passengers each year is the only major UK airline owned and headquartered in Scotland.

Loganair’s managing director, Jonathan Hinkles said: “A small presentation of tablet to our loyal customers is an extremely fitting way for Scotland’s airline to celebrate the country’s national day.

“I’d like to thank everyone travelling with us today and hope they enjoy tucking our St Andrew’s themed surprise.

“As the only UK airline to be owned and headquartered north of the border, we have a rich tradition of operations in Scotland extending back to 1962 when we were founded.

“Next year is another important milestone in our journey, operating autonomously after 24 years of providing services within franchise arrangements.”
