The Crown Estate was the topic of discussion last week when The Scottish Affairs Committee visited the Western Isles.
The group of MPs are conducting an inquiry into the Crown Estate in Scotland and are travelling throughout the country to discuss with communities and businesses how the situation can be improved.
The committee held meetings with Storas Uibhist, they visited Ardveenish Pier and Barratlantic and several other community projects.
On Barra they met with Southern Hebrides Against Marine Environmental Designations (SHAMED) and also representatives from the acquacultyure and fisheries sector, Community Land Scotland and in Lewis were given tours of Stornoway Harbour and the Creative Industries Media Centre.
On Saturday they met with the Galson Trust and held a discussion on Crofting, Harris Tweed, Digital Connectivity and Creative Industries with industry representatives.
The committee also met with Western Isles MSP Alasdair Allan who raised issues such as fuel prices, the future of the Crown Estate and improvements to broadband provision in the islands with them.
