Trial date set for Algarve incident

THE trial of five men accused of kidnapping and torturing a Scotsman in the Algarve in 2010 is to take place in Loulé Court.

James Ross, of Wick, Caithness, is said to have suffered a 13-day ordeal after being ‘taken against his will’ to Portugal.

A judge has ordered the trial of five men accused of attacking him following a preliminary investigation. The men were named as William Quinn, 54, Calum Macleod, 45, of the Western Isles, Steven Johnson, 48, from Manchester, and Terence McGurk, 33, and Ronnie Rose, 25, from the Midlands.
