UKIP may put up candidate in Western Isles

The UK Independence Party (UKIP) may put up a candidate for the Western Isles constituency in the General Election.

Currently no candidate has been selected but a spokesperson for UKIP said this did not mean a candidate would not stand.

There are still seven weeks to go until the General Election.

UKIP Leader Nigel Farage has said he will quit as leader of the party if he fails to win a Parliamentary seat at the general election in May.

The deadline to register to vote in the General Election is April 20th.
