It costs a staggering £4000 per hour to run Storonoway's lifeboat, the Tom Sanderson. Fundraising events like the Open Day and Family 5K Fundraiser held at the weekend in Stornoway are critical in the effort to keep the operation afloat.
The event was attended by over 700 visitors and raised £4000 for the local marine lifesavers.
