Video - Five years in the planning comes together at Tattoo Hebrides 2014

The weather held for a stunning evening of entertainment at Lews Castle Green in Stornoway last night (Friday) which provided the backdrop to Tattoo Hebrides 2014.

From Pipe Bands and Highland Dancing to a Samba routine and an Up Helly aa parade of Vikings the whole evening was an outstanding success enjoyed by the hundreds of spectators who crowded around the green arena to witness the different performances.

The evening ended on a high with a lone piper perched atop Lews Castle playing a closing refrain, before a stunning fireworks display drew ohhs and ahhs, especially from the younger members of the audience.

Tonight (Saturday) sees the Tattoo Concert held at the town’s Lewis Sports Centre and will feature acts such as the North West All-stars Cheer and Dance troop, to firm local favourites The Lochies, Julie Fowlis and the six-time World Champion Pipe Band the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.
