The weather gods - kept the rain away, just about - although a few uninvited midgie guests were on the prowl.

The first music of the night was seen from Yorkshire lass, singer songwriter Bella Gaffney, who won a prestigious stage slot at HebCelt as one of nine finalists in the CalMac Culture Music contest.

The main tents fired up at 7pm when Dundee quartet ‘The Hazey Janes’ got the music underway on the Islands Stage (see a snippet from their performance in our video).

Later in the evening and the crowds were piling in to see ‘Hayseed Dixie’ on the main stage and their set went down a storm with the appreciative audience.
