HRH The Princess Royal officially opened the Lochside Arena on Lewis this week on a monumental day for the Isles.
Princess Anne unveiled a plaque to officially declare the multi-purpose sports facility open after HRH met with local dignitaries, funders of the arena and youngsters who use the facility.
The Lochside arena comprises a 60m x 30m indoor sand arena, 10 looseboxes, showers and toilets, a meeting room and office.
There is also an adjoining outdoor enclosed sand arena and parking on site.
The Committee are planning further developments at the site including walk ways around the loch and a small jetty to allow easy access for water sports.
