Western Isles business owners encouraged to spring clean their skills

Existing and budding business owners in the Western Isles can access expert advice and support from their local Business Gateway office to help make their business blossom this Spring.

There is a varied programme of workshops covering a number of important business topics from retail marketing, to assisting with start-up strategies and offering advice on account keeping.

The programme includes:

Retail Marketing and Selling –Thursday, 5 June from 9:30am to 4:30pm in Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES), Balivanich, Isle of Benbecula. This workshop will cover a broad range of commercial topics that directly affect any business in the retail sector.

Understanding and Implementing Pricing for Profit – Friday 6th June from 9:30 – 4:30, also in CnES, Balivanich. A practical hands on workshop covering techniques to provide realistic pricing for your business

Business and Personal Planning – Thursday, 12 June from 9:30am to 12:30pm in Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES), Sandwick Road, Stornoway. Learn how to present a business plan for your business.

Introduction to Finance for Business– Tuesday, 17 June from 1:00pm to 4.30pm in Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Balivanich, Isle of Benbecula. This workshop will provide an overview on understanding the basic financial documents.

Absolute Beginners IT – Friday, 27th June from 9:30 – 4:30 in Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES), Sandwick Road, Stornoway. The workshop will use practical exercises to provide a broad overview of using email, the internet and word-processing.
