Festival fever has gripped the town this week as we see the start of the 20th Hebridean Celtic Festival.
All we need now is some sunshine to complement the festival atmosphere but even if it rains, festival goers are well prepared with their waterproofs and welly boots!

Inside this week’s Gazette it is all about the community events which are taking place every weekend over the busy holiday period.
In Barra the Fishermen’s Mass is a highlight on the events calendar and the Agricultural Show series is also about to kick off across the region.
This Saturday will be a busy day not least as the HebCelt will be in full swing but the RNLI are also hosting an open day at the Stornoway station and the Uidh Church in Aignish will also host an open day.
