Cinemas ensure a safe big-screen experience
Cinema fans who have been deprived of watching new releases on the big screen are overjoyed now that visits to picture houses are back on the cards.

Hide AdFor many of them, a trip to the cinema has been the third most missed activity during lockdown, behind visiting friends and eating out.
With cinemas in Scotland opening from July 16, following Northern Ireland on July 10 and England on July 4, the UK Cinema Association has publicised protective measures that have been put in place.
Social distancing between seats, contactless payment for refreshments, screens at ticket desks and face masks for workers are among the measures.
It is not compulsory for customers to wear face masks.

Hide AdPhil Clapp, chief executive of the association, said: “The steps that all cinemas will take to protect both audiences and their teams are we think the right ones to help ensure that we will be able to deliver a safe but still enjoyable big screen experience.’
The new measures will be broadcast on cinema screens and social media sites.
