BBC ALBA will screen exclusive live coverage of the first leg of the 1872 Cup between Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors.
Coverage of the fixture from BT Murrayfield starts on Sunday at 2.55pm, with the match itself beginning at 3.05pm.
Presented by Derek MacKay, match commentary will be provided by Hugh Dan MacLennan with analysis from Scotland and Edinburgh legend Chris Paterson. Red button commentary comes courtesy of Paul Mitchell and John Beattie.
Sunday’s match starts the annual double header between Scotland’s two professional outfits, with the 1872 Cup as well as ten league points up for grabs over the two legs.
Although Warriors were crowned league champions, last year saw Edinburgh seize the 1872 Cup back from the Scotstoun outfit for the first time in four years.
With Glasgow sitting fifth and Edinburgh sixth in the standings, it is likely to be another close and competitive match at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Gregor Townsend’s side have lost just one of their last six matches in all competitions, 15-26 at home to Northampton in the European Champions Cup in November.
However, Edinburgh boast an excellent home record, with Alan Solomons’ side only suffering one loss at Murrayfield so far, a narrow 14-16 defeat to Munster early last month.
As well as the live action, at half-time there is also a look back at the highlights of the recent Scottish Rugby Schools’ Finals night at BT Murrayfield.
Last year’s runners up George Watson’s College take on Strathallan School in the Under-16 final, while Watson’s Under-18’s aim to make in four senior titles in-a-row against Dollar Academy.
