Connor Maclean burst the tape at the Scottish Inter District Championships to win the U17 gold against the best teenage runners around.
The 17-year-old Stornoway Running and Athletics Club athlete finished as first U17 and 13th overall in a mixed U20 XC race in which he finished ahead of four of the six GB picks at U20 level.
Running for the North District at the Great Edinburgh XC Maclean was one of a ten-strong SRAC represenation for the event in Holyrood Park.
Flying the flag for SRAC alongside Connor were Ellie MacLean (U13), David Morrison (U13), Kyle Munro (U15), Joanna Gillies (U15), Peigi McKellar (U17), and Michael MacMillan. Plus senior runners Eilidh MacKenzie, Willie MacRury and Murdo MacKenzie.
