Bowling Outdoor Season begins
LAST Friday was the opening of the outdoor season at Stornoway Bowling Club with the first jack being delivered by Vice President, Mary Matheson.
The first competition of the season – the Sime 4 bowl pairs – will be played on Saturday, May 8, with entry deadline on May 5. So any club member wanting to take part in this competition add their name to the entry sheet in the club house.
With the election on May 6 and the club house being used as a polling station it will be out of bounds to members, so the normal Thursday evening play will be held on the day before (May 5).
For anyone interested in trying the game of bowls, there will be two 'Come and Try' sessions at 2pm on Saturday and Monday (May 1 and 3) with club coaches on hand to give advice.
