Exclusive live coverage of 1872 Cup Rugby with BBC ALBA

Live RaboDirect PRO12 coverage continues on BBC ALBA this festive season as Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors do battle for the 1872 Cup.

The two matches see Scotland’s professional sides and players fight to capture PRO12 points, the historic 1872 Cup as well as take the opportunity to impress Scotland’s interim head coach Scott Johnson ahead of the 2014 Six Nations campaign.

Coverage on the Boxing Day clash at Murrayfield has already been screened, with Derek Mackay presenting coverage and Hugh Dan MacLennan providing commentary.

The return match at Scotstoun Stadium on New Year’s Day will be hosted by Calum Macaulay, with coverage starting at 6.00pm. Commentary will again be provided by Hugh Dan MacLennan.

At half-time in the match we’ll chat to players from both sides – Warriors’ unsung hero Ed Kalman and Edinburgh stalwart Roddy Grant.

BBC ALBA has signed an exclusive deal to show live RaboDirect PRO12 rugby in Scotland until the end of the 2013/2014 season.

The channel is committed to showing at least eight Edinburgh or Glasgow home matches per season, and has teamed up with Irish, Welsh and Italian broadcasters to also provide live coverage of selected away matches for both sides.
