Commonwealth Kerry MacPhee reflects on the experience of a lifetime

Wow, wow, wow . . .It’s all over! Just like that it is done and dusted.

The Commonwealth Games have been and gone. And what a strange and slightly empty feeling it has left me with.

It is only natural though that after the truly roller coaster year and single most incredible experience of my life, I feel a little flat and deflated. But only because it was just that incredible!

As far as natural highs go, the games came with plenty of those!

I wrote my last column about three weeks before the games so that I could focus solely on my prep and even before getting into the village I had a rollercoaster experience. Three weeks before going into the village I ended up in hospital with an infection.
