Communities League end of season prizes

The end of the grass season in the Lewis and Harris Communities League brought with it the end of season prize giving.

The top honours were shared amongst three different clubs with silverware going to Ness Social Club, Tolsta FC and Stornoway FC.

Player of the Year, awarded as a result of the most Man of the Match awards decided by opposition teams at the end of each match, was Stornoway’s Andy Morrison.

Top marksman and top goalscorer was Angus Mitchell of Ness who also won a handful of cup competitions.

League champions were Tolsta.

The Communities League are now halfway through their winter seven-a-side competition on the Stornoway All Weather Surface.

The new format for this competition saw the teams divided into two groups whereby following the fulfilment of all fixtures the top half of each league went into a new ‘Premiership’ league and the bottom half of both groups into a ‘Championship’ league.

As such two trophies will now be played for between now and the end.
