Funds and smiles raised with charity football

While the monies raised is still being finalised, all involved with the annual charity football match sponsored by Alex Murray Construction are hailing it as one of their biggest and best yet.

Three football matches were played on Saturday as four teams - Best of the West (West Side / Carloway), Rest of the League Select, Tago’s XI and Iocdar Saints - clashed in a pair of semi finals and subsequent final.

Saints won both their matches to take the trophy and bragging rights among the lads but the big winners were undoubtedly the coffers of local charities.

In addition to the football fun the organisers hosted a raffle and auction with a huge list of incredible prizes and items to be bid on which helped raise the total even further.

Following the auction there was also a dance with entertainment from Strange Brew, Iain “Spanish” MacKay and Norrie “Tago” MacIver.
