Succesful trip for Lewis and Harris Rangers Club

This year’s trip was extra special as it was part of the Supporters Club’s 40th Anniversary celebrations which was recognised by Rangers with a special article about the RSC in the match day programme.

The 660 strong Stornoway based club is officially recognised by Rangers FC as the biggest RSC anywhere in the world and travels to Glasgow once a year for a day’s hospitality at Ibrox. This year’s trip took place over two days with the group, including Rangers Legend and LHRSC Ambassador Ronnie MacKinnon, taking part in The Founders Trail & Ibrox Stadium Tour on the Saturday afternoon.

Following this, on the Saturday evening the Island fans headed to The Louden Tavern for the Isle of Harris True Blues 15th Anniversary Bash. Guest speakers at the event were former light blue favourites John Brown and Charlie Miller who entertained the crowd with a Q & A session about their time at the club.

80 members of the Lewis and Harris RSC packed the Cooper Suite for hospitality as Stuart McCall’s men cruised to a 4-0 win over Raith Rovers. Joining them in the suite were Interim Chairman Paul Murray, captain Lee McCulloch, Andy Cameron and former Gers stars John Greig, Alex MacDonald and Willie Henderson along with LHRSC Ambassador Ronnie McKinnon.

After the match Stuart McCall, along with his management team Kenny Black, Gordon Durie and Jim Stewart, visited the Island fans in the Cooper Suite.

McCall thanked everyone for their support and promised he would come up to Stornoway soon to visit the world’s biggest Rangers supporters club.
