Work to begin at Lochboisdale ball-park

The Lochboisdale Amenity Trust (LAT) has announced that work will begin next week on installing a new all-weather 3G playing surface at the local Ball Park in Lochboisdale.

A Big Lottery Awards For All grant of £10,000 contributed costs towards a project to install an artificial all-weather sports surface on the community ball-park in the village.

Further funding was secured by LAT from The Robertson Trust, and the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar community sports fund.

The project has been led by Stephen Scott, Director of the LAT board and goalkeeper for Uist and Barra League champions, Iochdar Saints FC.

The initiative to resurface the ball-park aims to further encourage sports and physical activity within the area, and to broaden the range of participants.

The project falls within the ongoing LAT program to improve facilities in the township for young people and families.
